Has anyone got or used the New Massey Ferguson TD524 Tedder?

Is the Lely 520 built on the same base as the 600, just different rotor size? I was told today that the 520 was the stronger of the two!

I have now been offered a Kuhn GF502 or Lely 520 4 rotor Tedder at the same price, which one should I get?

Iirc the MF tenders are repainted Fellas, so nothing to do with the Lely.

I went looking for a Lely 4 rotor last summer, having given up trying to find a tidy used one at much less than new price. Ended up buying a Malone after seeing it alongside, considering Lely’s uncertainty re future spare parts. No regrets, the Malone has similar hook tones and a typically Irish build quality.(y)

Go Kuhn and get a warranty and parts back up. Lely are no more .

Kuhn very light compared with others is this indicative of a short life expectancy?

Are Kuhn really claiming you can run a 505kg Tedder with a 15/20 hp tractor?:ROFLMAO: I would thinking lifting/turning at the end of the field might be entertaining.

Weight wise, from what I observed, the difference reflects the amount of steel in the machine. Does anyone consider that ‘lighter’ is usually better for durability and long service life?
I could understand saving weight if you are trying to run it on a 20hp tractor:rolleyes:, but how many actually do these days?

The Krone KW 5.52 /4x7
Weight: 680 kg
HP needed 37-50

I think I have opened a real mine field, I know this subject of 4 rotor tenders has been asked many times/tines! yet from reading its a matter of personal choice on which brand to go for.... Lely would have been my favoured choice, yet the concern of getting spares in the future is still nagging me!
So which one now, a lot say Kuhn, some say Massey Ferguson, Krone, which is it?
