54 reg Mitsubishi pickup.
Heater plugs gone again.
Two types listed as possibles according to vehicle details, these being single or dual coil.
Doesn’t seem to be a way of knowing which is required without taking one out and looking at it.
Anybody know the craic with this single or double coil choice?
From photos on internet double coil looks to have a step taper at the glow end and still only one electrical connection but works as a two stage heating element internally. But don’t know if single and double are interchangeable or if the head is drilled different size for single / dial coil.

No help to you but the chap who done my MOT just changed mine on 53 L200 because having trouble starting,
didn't know there was two types but it's still a bit of a faff to fire it up in these temps !

I think I’ve only one plug working. Just won’t fire up now it’s cold. I have changed them before but didn’t write part numbers down or lost the bit of paper. Wasn’t even aware at time there were two variants, might have fitted wrong type back then. Dual coil is supposed to be better but the tips look slightly different on tinternet. Ours has a pull out thing like a choke on the right of the dash. All it seems to do is pull the accelerator pedal right down!

Yes got that too , presumed it was a hand throttle for low box 🤔
Check the side of your fuel pump, I had an older l200 that had a spring turned shaft on the left side that I think would advance or retard the timing or something in cold weather to make it easier to start. Whatever it was may have been electric solenoid controlled in later models tho

was that bit on mine, it was seized, freed it off by working it back and forth with wd40, this is years ago, not 100% what it actually was but it definitely started better after.

this may be the most unhelpful post ever😂

These are the ones we use in our L200
