As above have you got enough coolant in? Is the engine getting warm? Could someone have taken thermostat out? What colour or state is the coolant? If it’s dirty it could have blocked the heater matrix, is the matrix getting warm? Find the two supply and return hoses under the bonnet

The head gasket has gone ( I think ) it pressurises the coolant if I put the trailer on and go any distance. Fine without the trailer 2007 so not worth doing any major repairs.

Coolant will pressurise when hot anyway so trailer work will always be more than without. Head gasket will do it regardless unless it's a minor leak. Sealant might stop a minor one

On investigation the coolant had disappeared. I did check it regularly because of the trucks head gasket issue, however it does seem a leek has developed in the radiator. Will try some rad seal today hopefully that will work, but it is a leak rather than a drip.
