Labour 'too comfortable being too urban', Shadow Defra Secretary says

Labour has traditionally had little contact with rural areas, simply because rural areas have traditionally voted Tory. There will be a few exceptions, but Caithness is the only one I can think of on the spur of the moment.

Labour has rarely if ever made inroads into rural constituencies, so it must be extremely frustrating when they find that the Tories have made significant inroads into traditionally Labour constituencies. So I can quite understand why, in a moment of sheer bile frustration, a senior Labour politician referred to the Tories as scum.

Finally Labour have come out in public and declared that they will reopen talks with the EU on the withdrawal agreement.
Code no doubt for doing the sensible thing. Reentering the customs union and single market. Oh, and putting stuff back on the shelves and fuel in the tanks.

Then they don’t understand who voted for Brexit and why so many of their long term voters voted Tory last general election

When I first hear that Kier Starmer wanted to bring in 100 000 lorry drivers from the EU, my first thought was, that is going to completely screw any advances in conditions or wages for UK drivers, so to me, that shows that Labour have no interest or connection with hard working people, only the long term unemployed (sorry, I should say those on invalidity benefit) and the public sector employees.

I think he qualified it by saying a short term (visa) fix to solve today's issues and then up to Gov and industry to make the LGV driver a more attractive proposition ; money, conditions , overnight parking etc

Yep.

Labour are totally divorced from the working man. They either represent benefits or CEOs of Globalist Corporations wanting cheap immigrant workers.

We need a new opposition Party because Labour is on a different planet.

I think the Lib Dems might have been looking attractive just now if they hadn't cancelled themselves at the last election.

I was keen on the Lib Dems, until they totally dismissed the 52% of the population who voted leave the EU, so they would have to do something very special for me to forge that.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to run an election campaign on completely ignoring a previous vote should have been expelled for life. Whatever your views on Brexit you can't just ignore the result of the referendum.

His comments seem to need an ever increasing amount of 'qualification'; the 'socialist' Sir Keir seems, for an irony, to be an archetypal reactionary. 'Post hoc ergo propter hoc' could be his motto... :ROFLMAO:

Whereas Boris is defined by “exitus acta probat”!
Just ask the unionist folks of NI…
