Lamb Scouring

Skinned twin lambs today and put them on two orphans. Gimmer is taking them so I thought I was home and dry.

Went out tonight and the good pedigree lamb is running skitter....down legs, over belly, bo*locks, inside and outside skin... just everywhere. It's standing with back knees the gether, clearly feeling sorry for itself. Simply overgorged on her colostrum.

Iv given him one schoosh of Spectrum Scour Halt but he went straight under for more milk.

What would be best to sort him out? If he was a pet I'd bottle him electrolytes but I'm working at twinning him on so he has to be with the ewe.

If he’s just had a belly full of colostrum then it’s not anything that ab’s (Scourhalt) will sort, just to much rich milk at once. If that’s all it is, he’ll be ok once he’s settled, and over his belly ache.

OK thank you that's a relief. Yeah he's 3 days old and never had an issue with him. Took him off his own mother at 11am today and marked her to cull as she's virtually no milk - I've been pretty much keeping him with a bottle.

Iv been watching on the cameras and he's definitely took full advantage of this gimmers good bag today.

I assume he’ll have a ring on soon then, being a maternal breed ‘n all?;)

It's entirely my fault. I knew my old ewe was buggered in the bag last year with mastitis but I thought she was good on one side. Turns out not. I only kept her as she's been a top breeder - aye and this years lamb is no exception.
