Iv done that before. Went and bought ewe lambs and Rams last year without knowing till after inhad seen them and chosen what I wanted. Iv been trying to set up my own wee place and have 3 fields rented. Couod have had another 20 acres on top of that for just myself. Planned to buy own sheep and keep all over there and be u dependant. Father told landlord I didn't want the other 20 acres and by time I found out he had already rented it to someone else. I'd like nothing more to have own wee place and be in charge. Finding that round here isn't easy. Which means have to get my best from what i have at home

No real updates yet. Gave ewe lambs at home a min dose when weighed last week and had them in and think theyv improved Abit cause of it. Training lambs on troughs Instesd of creep feeders. I agreed with father to sell the bottom end weights of below 35kgs. Weighed ewe lambs yesterday had 44 of those low weights. Since I started to weigh father has decided to sell all lambs and forget thek and sell 3/4 of the ewes as sheep are waste time. I need 2 new more Rams for sheep I have at min and he's refusing to use the farm account to buy even one and I haven't any money in my account to do it myself. Just wondering is it possible to have 2 flock numbers on the same holding number if that's the correct terms for it ?

Oh dear, two flock numbers not a problem, as l have learned do it yourself by yourself and learn by experience and your own mistakes and others will see that. Always look on the bright side [emoji846]

Been told I can start fresh with own flock and Accounts. Couple reasons that's stopping me st the moment. Not sure id be able to say on public thing tho

You don't need to go into anything on here.

Your in a sh!t situation. Starting up yourself will be the best thing you can do - prove the naysayer wrong. Sad it's your dad, but trust me it is not an uncommon situation.

It costs nothing to get set up really, apart for buying the livestock. If you can't do it now, shelf it for a while and save up the pennies then when you can - go for it, and never look back.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
