Are there any obvious choices? I hope there are that I have not thought of. Great shame that DC got rid of James Paice who then didn't stand again as an MP.

He is my MP, he is a complete waste of space, has been no help to farmers that have gone to him for help over their BPS problems, just says he cant help, yet he is chair of the EFRA committee... so work that out!!

He only wants to know when it means he might get his pic in the local paper.

I know many people that are non farmers who have gone to him for help on various issues and he has just fobbed them off as well.

Also he is hell bent on direct subs going to be replaced by more complicated stewardship schemes that are both unworkable at farm level and impossible for the RPA to administer, he will be an utter disaster for the industry if he gets the job!

Ditto for Geoffrey Cox.
I just looked up to see if he is still a director of MVF but see he resigned 9 years ago;

I'm listening to Neil Parrish speak as I type this. There are few, if any, in Parliament more in tune with real farmers.

He is FAR from in tune with real farmers, he will tell you what you want to hear whilst doing the total opposite! don't get sucked in by him!

Very few farmers want direct subs to go to be replaced by totally unworkable stewardship schemes that NP is hell bent on introducing.

How about the government appointing a person who knows what he's doing and is qualified!
This grinds my goat, just because an mp is voted in ( in any party ) why on earth do they automaticly go into a job they know nothing about.
Take Alan Johnson ( labour ) few years back he was made chancellor and he didn't have a clue about economics, he was a f**king postman !
Just watch yes minister, none of them have a clue. My cousin worked for quite a few well known MPs as a civil servant, most went to dinner for hours on end and came back pee'd, others were having affairs.
Ken Clark pee'd on wine most of the time and did sod all!

one was a bloody genius though, photographic mind, one look at a page and he could say it off by heart, but the bad side was, he was a crook!
He's now the head of the committee in charge of mi6, it beggars belief ( m rifkin )

The other was an honourable chap on telly, shagging his secretary behind closed doors, he dropped dead walking up a hill under weird circumstances after resigning from the then labour cabinate over the Iraq war.. ( Robbin cook )

You would be better off going to the local pub picking people by random, they would be no worse, cos the civil service do the work anyway!

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
