Lexion 430 - grain prep tray rubber

Hi all

Just looking for some advice for a winter project...

The rubber strips on the sides of the grain prep tray are looking quite tired on my Lexion 430. What's the best way to replace them - can it be done inside the combine or does the prep tray need to come out of the combine? If so, what's the best way to get the trays out?

Thanks in advance

I tried getting in to do mine but too many calories didn’t help. To replace they are best done with the pan out. While it’s out change the rubber bushings too. Take the feeder house off and do the top sprockets and bearing too is not done recently. With the feeeder house out you can get easy access to the pan.

We have just done our 430
It can be done it situ, but you need to be thin, anybody with a big frame or carrying excess won't manage it all.

We pulled the front trays out over the axle, and that got access to the front rivets, concave hard up helps.

Straw chopper back, chaff spreaders folded out of way, dropped off one of the back combs to save impaling yourself every time, threw a sheet of stokboard over the back sieves and crawled in the back, 3 10mm bolts and the division at the back of the grain pan on each side comes off and that gets you in a bit further.
I couldn't reach the rivets halfway down but lad helping me could so between us we did it.
We drilled some rivets, battery grinder to some, and to get more reach used a Milwaukee multi tool to get the middle ones. Hammer and punch to knock out the bits left.
For any sakes Don't use Claas rivets as they are seriously hard and about impossible if inside the machine, we used Kramp ones and they seemed OK

Not a good job, we called it "Hitlers revenge" by the end of it. 🤣🤣

I did a dominator in situ but I was 15 years younger, it was a bitch then. My Lexion needs it. I must admit, for this season I just cut the first 1/1.5 metres and did the front - it’s where they do the most🤔. My dealer has a young and small mechanic, although he is really in their mower/chain saw department, I try and sell him the job, no success so far

How many hours are theses being changed at. The hours are up on my lexion and we’ve had to re attach the rubber to keep going. Lucky it was near the rear on the shaker shoe. My 480 I did by crawling inside but only a patching job.

Thanks. Roughly how long did it take it to do?

It really doesn't look like an enjoyable job at all!
