I'm guessing the above do not work on iPhones?
decisions, which of the 2.
Question, can i download to computer and transfer to android tablet?
arrrrrrrr, think too late, tride download farm sprayer and now they want lot more money
Sorry for sounding like some sort of luddite but what sort of system will £1,000 get you?
I use this same gps device and find it ok on the flat but along way off on hilly going. Maybe im not using it right?Ok.. I've been using Farm Sprayer GPS today. They want £3.20 for the basic app. I then had to upgrade to pro (it cost me $45) but all they did was send me a link to this website where I downloaded the latest version of the software (I have a feeling you might be able to access the software like that but you might want to own up!), I did this through the browser on my tablet (follow the Installation instructions on that page- they were perfect for use on my Hudl tablet).
Its a good Idea to look at (and zoom on) all the fields you will be visiting using the 'Acre calculator tool' in the app at home first on wifi, as then when you are out there using it you will see actual satellite images of the fields as they will have been automatically saved to the app, which is better than using a blank grid.
Then all you need is your external bluetooth gps receiver mine is this one from amazon. Then you will need to turn off your tablets own gps in settings and use this free app to link your receiver to your tablet (this is much more accurate than your tablets own gps). Once you've connected your qstarz receiver to that app it should work automatically when you open the farm sprayer app and show your location.
I got on best using the 'Advance Line tracking mode'. You then hit 'start here'. Put in the width of the machine, select metric or imperial, and then choose line mode on or off..I found 'off' was better for me. then hit start and off you go, it will leave a mark on the ground you have covered, and will show overlaps and misses!
It all worked great until the spinner went bang! just tried to go out in the dark with a fixed fert spinner and it couldn't pick up as good a signal so I'm leaving the last load until the morning :-(
Hope that helps! Its a damn sight cheaper than any other option I've found and works well.
@Gander do you have your qstarz connected via Bluetooth or via USB cable
What other equipment do you need to run this ap GPS is mentioned .won't work with phone alone .does it work? And its free
@Gander do you have the qstarz receiver in the cab or on the roof?
