What’s everybody using for sheep?
iv got a tru test reader so don’t want too move away from that really if I can avoid it… looked at the shearwell app at lamma which looked what I’m after but not compatible with my reader? Not bothered about DLWG and all that just want it too cover holding registers/ movements ect

Just need to add to this thread in case anybody out there is struggling with their Sheep records. To comply with the legislation you only need to record the identity of the animal at the point of the event. The identity is based on the visual not the EID. Therefore, if something happens to a double tag animal, then this is what needs to be in your records. Alternatively, if the animal just has a slaughter tag, then it is simply just the flock mark. Readers are very useful when recording batches of animals, with double tags that have moved off or on. This obviously populates you’re holding register accordingly.

I have come across many situations over the years where she promised who just want to maintain cross compliance. Think they have to have a list of Sheep that are double tagged every single day. This is not the case. Only when an event occurs do you need to identify the animals within that event.

just wanted to help make that clear in case there is ambiguity out there. Which I know there is

We use iLivestock now, Great app, use it with a TruTest reader. Used to have flockwatch but to many issues.
