I bought 10 Lleyn ewes from a Lleyn society sale, and a registered Lleyn Ram off a local farmer who only has Lleyn sheep..
Can I sell the lambs as Lleyn,s or do I have to be MV accredited?

They have produced cracking lambs, both ewe and ram lambs..

Lambs can be sold as Lleyn regardless of registered status. You’d just have to say commercial Lleyn if not registered.

If you want to sell them as ‘pedigree Lleyn’, they need to be registered with the society so you’d need to check with the society about registration status of the ewes… if they are birth notified, you may have to just pay the registration fee to register your lambs. I’m pretty sure that is how it works. I think rams need inspection for pedigree registration don’t they?

PBNR is the description you want.

People seem happy enough to accept it as a rule.

Being MV accredited is separate from being a registered with Lleyn society.
However unlike most other breed societies the Lleyn breeders seem to care about health status of sheep so do tend to seperate none MV accredited sheep at sales.
