Probably learned i sold it too cheap now.neighbor paying £12 an acre apparently for snetterton power station.our barley was baled in claas quadrants and got 10 an acre.i think 2ft x2ft x8ft.no idea what they weigh though

What variety is it @warksfarmer ? Am I right in thinking you use very high seed rates?

That’s Edgar and yes 250kg/ha - 300kg/ha late October drilled.

Am I the only one who had the drought then ? Spring barley knee high, don't expect much more than 2/3 bales (round ) / acre.

Thats alot i turned some down at £100 per acre about a 3rd of what you have their.

Turned down £125/acre and will bale it ourselves so we’ll see what the baler says! It’s probably just all air!

That’s actually very light loam soil that has potatoes and carrots on it. We are surprised also as whilst it has looked a decent crop all year it died off a month early.

No idea but its biomass fuel so not inline with the livestock straw market.

Our funky had fairly big rows but had to be turned once, baled up into nothing after that.
Was cutting barley at neighbours yesterday, really heavy crop, counted about 45 4'6 rounds on a 5 acre
