30 tonne splitter on a big tractor with big oil flow and all good. Put the same splitter on a mf 135 and it will be as slow as heck as not enough oil flow.

Not if it runs off the pto.

it spins clockwise so it's your right hand you need to be wary of. Tractor only on tickover, I've not looked into the legislation on noise but never considered it an issue.

I got a hycrack type a few years ago. It makes a hydraulic one look like a toy, the output is double anything with a ram. You just need to use basic common sense, just the same as all these one handed modified ram splitters.

Well i have tried both and up on a bench is a better job,big rounds i split with axe and wedge

Wow, I know what you mean about bending over now, my god I gave the old stomach muscles some exercise today!

Your core strength will improve gradually with time doing it, yer back wont ache so much then
You would still need to bend down to pick them up to put them onthe bench.

Try moving them around with your foot and leg , or kick them away from the area, just saves a bit of bending over,

Has anyone tried to run an Oxdale TM400 off a Fergy 35, using the tractor’s own hydraulics? I’m getting the impression that it’s a bit of a pointless excercise without a PTO driven pump.

We have the same as this, spinning cone.
used have a hydraulic splitter, but those are so slow, and not the best with anything knotty.

These cones are the way to go, if I was buying again, I wouldn't even consider a hydraulic.

The screw type appear to be considerably cheaper but seem to be more dangerous in use?
