Not sure whether they are available in the UK but recently got a Hartnett petrol driven 12 tonne model. It's cheap and cheerful but rattles through logs at a fair old pace.

it spins clockwise so it's your right hand you need to be wary of. Tractor only on tickover, I've not looked into the legislation on noise but never considered it an issue.

Wow, I know what you mean about bending over now, my god I gave the old stomach muscles some exercise today!
Your core strength will improve gradually with time doing it, yer back wont ache so much then ;)
You would still need to bend down to pick them up to put them onthe bench.

Try moving them around with your foot and leg , or kick them away from the area, just saves a bit of bending over,

Has anyone tried to run an Oxdale TM400 off a Fergy 35, using the tractor’s own hydraulics? I’m getting the impression that it’s a bit of a pointless excercise without a PTO driven pump.
