Longtown Auction

Nothing to get alarmed about but if you are travelling there from Carlisle direction check your journey before leaving as the bridge over the river in Longtown is closed completely after a vehicle damaged the wall, this is separate from the damage that has caused it to be single file for the last few months. Hopefully it will be open again next week but I don't know the timescale as yet.

The bridge is open to everything except HGV. Its says nothing over 2.5m wide or 9m long so not sure about tractors?? Been over today with pickup and trailer. Tight bollards at each side.

I hope for the sake of the farmer who has a farm either side of the bridge that they allow tractors over the bridge, but i'd guess their tractor and tri axle diet feeder will be longer than 9m

Is the bridge open to HGV's yet folks? Got a ruck of SBF Hoggs that are ready for off! (Well, ready for a trip to market. The little g**s are always ready for off in one direction or another!
Want to make sure I come off at right junction as turning lorry round is PITA.

Cheers

If you are coming up the M6,its not much further going to the Gretna turnoff. Fairly close from there to Longtown by Smarmstown. Dont stop for diesel at the services on that part of the M6 though. Complete rip off.
