looking for a match plough

Dowdeswell and KV are much easier to make the legs adjustable up and down which seems to be the norm for World Style ploughs these days, early Fiskar were a bit short and many were lengthened by competitors, later ones came out of the factory longer, great plough but seem to be out classed by KV, Dowdeswell need a heavily modified board to compete as I think YCN specials are also out classed by No 25's

Could be wrong, but I think that is just a very highly modified commercial 2f conventional,

The chances of finding a dowdeswell 2f conv match plough, in you're budget will be extremely thin I think

One ploughing today at Whitchurch YFC match with ex Dowdeswell Ian Wilson at the wheel.

The one you were looking at Tony was a TS 83 reversible main frame with legs cut off and a sliding headstock etc etc, Sonny's was the 1st one made and Ian's was the 2nd, both done before both gentlemen worked for Roger Dowdeswell but both had some Dowdeswell bits added at a later date.

I`m not sure whether this is a trounted plough or simply a semi-mounted. What class would the SOP put this in ? Perhaps the executive could consider and post a reply.

Semi- mounteds came in on four furrow ploughs when tractors were not heavy enough or three point linkage powerful enough to lift them to lift them. They had a hydraulic operated tail wheel as in TS78.

On Thursday 26th September, we’re holding a webinar for farmers to go through the guidance, actions and detail for the expanded Sustainable Farming Incentive (SFI) offer. This was planned for end of May, but had to be delayed due to the general election. We apologise about that.

Farming and Countryside Programme Director, Janet Hughes will be joined by policy leads working on SFI, and colleagues from the Rural Payment Agency and Catchment Sensitive Farming.
