Hello everyone,

My name is Cris and our farm needs a small tractor. We run a number of Fendt and Case tractors and we are pleased with them, especially with the older Case ones, but I will consider other makes as well.

I am looking at a few options at the moment, with power under 135hp. I would like a 6 cylinder engine, but would consider a good 4 cylinder (Perkins?). The models that have my attentions right now are: Fendt 309C or Fendt 500 series (non vario), Case MX 100C - 135 (only pre 2002).

I have also found a few very tempting McCormick MC 115 (pre 2007). From my research, they are very similar with the Case MX 100C. Does any one know the differences between them? Also, on the McCormick, I have found they have two different gear shift levers, one is the "manual" old-school lever (just like in the Case), on one is more like a joystick with a screen and two buttons. I have attached photos with both. Is there any difference to the tractor/gearbox, or is it just the lever?

Please feel free to share your experiences with any of the above models, or simmilar good tractors. I have to mention that our farm is quite large and it will be used quite alot (spraying, trailer, etc.)

Thank you!

We had kubota m136gx out on demo. Thought it was good tractor. Nice to drive and easy on diesel
I am trying to stay away from newer tractors. I also don't think that a Kubota engine would be better reliability wise compared to a Cummins or Perkins engine. Another reason that I am looking at older tractors is that I want them to be more simple, especially the gearbox (non CVT). I had plenty of bad experiences with new tractors and that is why I am staying away from them where I can.
Would of thought a MC Cormick mc135 power 6 would have suited you well
That is also a good ideea that I am considering. But I am prefering the MC115 over the MC120/135 because it is smaller.
