I’m Liam (family and friends call me by my nickname Reggie) from Badlesmere near Faversham, Kent.
I have recently taken up metal detecting to be in the outdoors, keep me fit as I can’t play football anymore and because I like learning about history.
This hobby has recently got me hooked due to finding items from the Roman times right Up to items from the present day on my in-laws land and some land I acquired near Canterbury. I love the buzz of the hunt and trying to piece together the history and research the land that I’m detecting on.
I’m currently looking to contact local landowners/farmers in the area (But don’t mind travelling out) for the near future to gain permission to detect on.
Although I’m a hobby metal detectorist, I am serious about the hobby and have a membership with National Council for Metal Detecting and also have Public Liability Insurance (if permitted to detect on your land I will share all these details for your records beforehand).
If I gain permission to your land, as I have done on my current land permission, I will remove any rubbish that I dig up. This can be good safe practice as eventually the rubbish/scrap in the ground could injure livestock or damage your farming equipment.
Feel free to contact me if you have lost something precious or car keys etc as I’d be happy to reunite with these if I can locate them for you.
I look forward to your response,
Kind regards,
Reggie
