Loss of Bps

I would like others views on the reduction of Bps payments and the un fairness of this when Scottish farmers are seeing no change in their payments aswell as European countries. I am getting really annoyed at the lack of any union that is really standing up for us. The Nfu may as well be called No F**King Use....and the government couldn't care any less about agriculture.....I wish we could be more like the French and cause some chaos to make people stop and listen.....May seem a rant but getting very frustrated with the industry at moment and would like to hear others views.

This. Every Westminster government from the 80s onwards had lobbied in Europe for the dismantling of the CAP, no matter the colour of their politics. I think it is more than a little wide of the mark to rant at the NFU when there is some degree of farming support still on the table.

Never has a government shafted this industry as efficiently as this one.

There has been a consistent commitment from Govt, most recently just last week, that the £3Bn for farmers is still there. The issue at this point in time is the failure to get ELMS right, no more no less. Yes, it's frustrating right now, but they will get there.
ever the optimist, i wish i had your faith in them Delilah, but i hope you prove us negative people wrong though.

Totally agree....and a platform for our opinions and voices are non existent....and the so called leaders in charge of agriculture are spineless little weasels that have no clue.....I love farming but a bit of support and fairness is not too much to ask...

I assume you must be a member of the Nfu.....I see very little support in the industry at the moment

The big issue is simple.
The ear of the policy authorities is held currently by activists and eco warriors. Some have great ideas, others are ideologically opposed to alot of modern farming, livestock especially.

Farming is divided in the UK, the nfu don't represent everyone,
Farmers can't even agree on brexit being good or bad for farming, and theirs always one who will break ranks for 50p.
The solution is a farming body that actually fights for use and our market place, but let's say we all put foot down and said no to red tractor, no to further nvz restrictions, or a system where subs were linked to lost productivity for public benefit, their would be lots of individuals who would still take the King's shilling for short term gain shafting the rest of us.
