Low HP massive mower

Why aren’t these popular over here? I see lots of HP on relatively small mowers over here, yet in the states this is 16m cut width on 225hp.

Crop size and terrain mostly plus the use of conditioners. 3m front and back will drag 200hp down going up hill in a heavy first cut.

Because I don’t know what benefit does a conditioner offer?

That American thing looks just like a osr swather really. Very simple way of getting a swath of you ask me?

We cut crops with much lower dm than in America in much smaller and usually steeper fields. We do a totally different job so need totally different kit to do it with.

You mean 16 foot cut on those haybine things? They have about 150hp engines don't they?

A triple mower outfit in the UK/Ireland, in heavy grass and with the conditioners in will happily eat 300hp particularly if you want to cut at speed. I have seen 1st cut grass crops yield 18t/acre freshweight.
