What was Darlington fat lambs like today?

I left after cattle, but was told they were better....I had some cull ewes in and they seemed a lot better trade

Usually get £5/10 luck on the calves I buy. My beer money,and a meal out for the wife every couple of weeks.

I was at a sale 2 years ago and a seller said to my boy there's a £10in each animal for you everything your farther buys cows calfs I had 6 and a bull he never paid my boy and I've not bought anything of his since and never will it wasn't expected and I've never said anything but he knows my boy learnt a lot that day

Yes silly of him had a different one this week bought some feeding ewes off farm dropped them off 2 ewes for luck he said came in for cup tea and I paid him what we agreed and paid for the 2 luck ewes at the same money because the ewes he brought were worth more then he asked me over the phone just gave him the chq he put it in his pocket didn't look at it go to sale today I have 3 boys he got hold of them £20quid each
I bought his store lambs then very fair man

The first fat lambs I sold as a child my grandfather was at the market and gave me £2 to give to the buyer. Stock where luck has not been passed has done badly here so why not. I give a bit of luck on my rams. If I have no cash about me it may be a luck substitute (a luck tarpaulin once to shore up a trailer) it needn't be much, I think its nice to be tidy with people. When my kids sell sheep they give luck - the one wrinkly mean old dealer bought them an ice cream each

I give luck,but I get it announced that it's in the office, was brought up with it and see no harm in it. I gave the drovers some as well because like the other day when we turned up with 360 they were there waiting and I didn't have to draw one they did it all and that's definitely worth a few quid.

Always give some luck when i sell tups from home normally a 10er each tup regardless of how much i charged for it. Never had anyone ask for it and have never asked for it. I dont give luck to dealers who by fat lambs at the mart.

My luck certainly does not inflate the price I receive, it is merely done as a gesture and I have never seen anybody refuse it wether they believe in it or not.

Obviously some wont but their are some very big players in the cattle world times of year they will be raking in a lot of luck they would be fool hardy if they dont declare a good proportion of it.

There is absolutely no way hmrc could prove luck money was undeclared income it is cash from farmers pockets with no papertrail so it does not exist ,unless they only use this cash to live on and no other drawings thereby providing the evidence of undeclared earnings

Yes for the smaller man, what about the big boys collecting thousands per week, or big sellers putting it in their accounts ? some sell 100 head a week 500 out the accounts as cash ....................

This has been intimated earlier in this thread. Are these people working for charity or the love of it then? Surely someone pays them a wage or at the very least they make money trading the stock on?
