Hi.
looking at replacing 5 old sheds on a farm.
each shed is approx 6m wide. 31m in total width for all 5.
They are 30m long.
Needs to be replaced due to issues with leaking water and issues with rats.
What would a suitable replacement be.
Would be used as tempoary grainstore in summer and store machines and some straw in winter.
Needs to tip 20 tonne trailer.
What would you guys recomend ?

Are you thinking One big one, or a few?

for the area it sounds like maybe 2 to avoid large steels to try for a 30 meter span so 2 15m wide sheds, they can share legs so 3 legs 2 spans, then make them 20ft bays, 5 bays each which is around 30 meters 100 ft.

height is key for tipping but you could go shed and lean, so only one is tall the other is less so.
so shed with unbroken roof to a second roof with a sloping pitch similar or less for a tractor shed/ storage. Then it helps that the grain store is tall. You avoid a rain water valley, and can catch a lot of water, if you need it.
I could not get a pic as not sure what that shape is called, but with this you do not have to concrete all the floor just the grain storage, and you get 2 barns for 3 legs per bay. It keeps the steel size down. Far better than 5 old sheds.
If you’re trying to work around old concrete then you are better talking to a shed supplier and talking to them about best options.
This shed was just a random shed grain stores will be a lot taller my suggestion as tall as possible then the lean on side can maybe have 16 foot plus tall legs at the small end, with 20 ft bays it can be fully open apart from the gain shed wall, but if required at a later date you can do what you want with it.

Store the grain, straw and machines separatly, or your vermin problem will continue

ok,
Have seprate grainstore.
Just would be tipping in that shed before it is dried or lorry takes it away.
would hope that vermin problem would go away after old shed is demolished? It has old stone built walls. rest of sheds are modern with no stone walls

Hi, If you don't mind me asking, what part of the country are you in? Only reason i ask, is i work p/t for a structural steel company and we've done a few farms recently. Price seemed good to them. Were in Derbyshire but serve the whole country,
