Wonder why, that seems like a good idea especially on a wagon plough with double wheels in the middle, would help drive it alongDoes anyone else remember Kverneland showing a replacement for the rear depth wheel for a plough which had treads like tractor tyre and was powered by a motor driven by the tractor hydraulics? The idea was it would help to 'push' the plough along especially in difficult conditions. I don't honestly know how they could balance the pushing affect with the gear ratio of the tractor/ oil flow from the hydraulics etc. Anyway, whatever , the idea seemed vanish rather quickly.

Saw that thread not many fans it seems, look at all the oil driven machines around now, surely the technology has moved on.As long as it was more reliable than the wheel motors used on JD front wheel "assist" axles of the 70s?

Those tractor towed engine pto things for pulling a big powerharrow etc behind a small tractor, were they called Powerframe or something?
Wheel drive off a pot harvester? With todays CVT, 4 PTO speeds and power boost I can imagine it working:
Have a PTO shaft driving the wheel, geared down a lot so 540rpm would be about 3mph, and a free wheeling clutch.
E.g. Plough along at 4mph with PTO in, wheel freewheeling. Get to a tough bit, wheels slip, forward speed drops to 3mph. Wheel starts pushing, increasing load on PTO so power boost of tractor kicks in. As soon as you're through the tough bit it freewheels again.
You wouldn't need to alter the gearing, with 4 PTO speeds that would let you power it at 1.5mph to 7mph (or similar range anyway), just match it with the CVT.
Would it work? Probably not worth it even if it would!
I think the CS one uses one off a sugar beet harvester. Which is probably the same.Wheel drive off a pot harvester?

Cultivating Solutions have perfected this system on their Titan. It was much too expensive when I looked at it and their claims were very optimistic. It would allow you to unlock boost on draught applications though. It uses pressure sensing to ensure that the packer is always turning just faster than ground speed.
I did suggest that they could retrofit the system to trios using the power beyond slice on most modern tractors but they weren't interested.
Know where there is one of those still used every season between sheriff Hutton and terrington in n Yorks
A mate of mine had one I've got a feeling It was one of only 2 in the uk, I used to drive it a fair bit we never used the E on it though it had low hours and was absolutely mint when he sold it, really it should have gone into a collection somewhere as it would be rarer than any silver jubilee or doe, @brynseiri will know the farm I'm on aboutjohn deere 7530e model did ever go into production ?
That's the one, he told me the generator packed up and cost JD more than the tractor was worth to put right iirc. Ended up in America as Europeans wouldn't touch it.A mate of mine had one I've got a feeling It was one of only 2 in the uk, I used to drive it a fair bit we never used the E on it though it had low hours and was absolutely mint when he sold it, really it should have gone into a collection somewhere as it would be rarer than any silver jubilee or doe, @brynseiri will know the farm I'm on about
Suggesting! Not that I'm being suggestive... ooh-err!Are you asking?
I'm a night owl. No wonder milking cows was fudgeing murder for me!
