The Croptex Roguing Glove. Instead of physically pulling out wild oats you stroked each one with a dose of Roundup or whatever with an impregnated glove as you walked through the crop. I can imagine it is all to easy to accidentally touch the crop with the glove unless you were prepared to hold your arm up in the air all the time. Does anybody still use one?
Got one here, must be 40yrs old, dont know if its ever been used though.

Maybe its time to modify the title ( Or open another thread)" Things that caught on in a big way then suddenly went out of fashion" e.g. The Dutch Harrow.

Or indeed stripper headers themselves. I think they sell well in say Australia but l don't think they found much of a market here.

I can see them making a return with regenerative ag, strip the grain out, then DD the following crop into the standing straw? No slug problems from a mass of chopped straw, just let it break down over the next 10 months....

Have you seen the prices on the straw auction thread?

Even the CTF zealots are sniffing the air for the smell of money.😂

I used to have a Stripper header on a TF44 on the linseed, cleanest collection of the stuff but it did wear the fingers fairish. We'd leave the stubble over winter and plough or disc in the spring where it would break up like nettle stalks. That was the early 90's

Lot of IH hydros still in operation here in the states. Friend of mine uses one to power his vertical tub mixer loves it for the ability to vary ground speed seamlessly while unloading feed...says it's a poor man's cvt without the headaches of a modern tractor
Think they were more popular over in the states though. Iirc they made a hydro in the last of the true internationals which is the same shape as a 52/5488 or mabe it was in the red and cream same era as a 1586?
