Grinder is transformed since having a couple of 5ah batteries.

got a few makita battery tools
Batteries are hit and miss, if its cold and your working outside the batteries wont charge, which can be a major problem
Have some of their 5 amp batteries, according to makita these take 40min to charge, more like 70min.
Very easy to knacker the batteries if your savage with the tools.
Dont think their batteries are as advanced as some.
Their tools are good and over the 4-5 years ive had them only one drill has required repair, one of my favorite is their led torch coupled with the 5amp battery, very bright and lasts for days without charging, only cost £32.

I've had my makita 3Ah for about 5-6 years now, they're finally showing their age so looking to get a pair of 5Ah although i don't think the new batteries fit the drill i have unfortunately, that's something to watch out for

They don't fit, without trimming back the side tab a little.
My only concern is that the later batteries have some fancy electronics inside that the older ones lack, and could be damaged by overloading etc.
Nothing ventured.. etc. So far, so good.
