What are they like? Any experience with them?

They got there issues like any other IMO.

cooling could have been better, its okay but dont take much to block them up.

Despite the common 90 deg gearbox issues the MLT 634 is miles better machine imo

was lots of changed to the 627 during production so would need to be a bit more specific on the age and spec if you want gory details

When you say block the cooling, where do they tend to block up?

We run a 2015 629....having had a couple of 627 before it. 629 was an improvement seems to have lots of power.....we need a handy machine and narrow...its on 20" wheels. As above....heating up was a bit of an issue on the 627....improved on the 629. 629 has regeneration on the engine.

Rads a bit small and on later ones the design of it is easier to block with dust etc. Although the later one is more solid so you can blast it as hard as you like.
When any manitou overheats and runs hot they knacker the inside of the water hoses. Starting with top rad hose first but in time will do all hoses including the cab heater hoses. They perish and crack internally and bits of rubber drop off that then start to block the top of the cores in rad internally.
Needs a good back flush to get them out when it happens.

Also difficult to clean rad when aircon is fitted.

Yeah we used to remove air con rad as no chance of cooling properly with that on, got a 627 with head gasket gone here now, probably get the rad flushed when thats being done

Cheers

What are your thoughts on Mlt 625. Is it big enough for general farm work, the small size is obviously an advantage for certain jobs.

Naff all found clearance on 625. But a handly size. Far too expensive second hand though! Seem to hold value really well.

Axles not as strong as the 627 and bigger machines etc. Much smaller tie rods and king pins, UJs etc.
