We have a manitou 840, used to have a 741. We've got a strimech Xform 3 cubic metre bucket which has been a good match for both machines. Strimech used to sell these on license I believe, please correct me if i'm wrong. Eastern attachments make them, think they can now be bought through Cherry Products. Good strong, but relatively light bucket. I'd buy another if that helps.

STRICTLY combinable crops only. (y)

I have a 741 aswell and I got a new strimech 2.5 cube bucket for loading grain it holds 1.8-2ton of wheat depending on bushel weight. I find it’s big enough for me, I have one shed that isn’t concrete out the front for loading and it can be a little unstable on un level ground when loading lorry’s.

We have a 3.5 cube X form bucket on our 4 tonne Merlo. It's well made and finished. We went for a larger bucket as you don't have to brim fill it and wont spill any and when loading lighter crops like oats makes the job much quicker. Will future proof it as well

Xform 8ft wide 2.5 to 3 cubic metres is about right.
I thought you’d reply at some point Andrew.......... it’s that word “ Manitou” your drawn to it ;)
We finally saw “the light”

On the Xform bucket, do Cherry make them for Eastern Attachments, the other way round, or make buckets for themselves only. Also what are the other Xform buckets on the market e.g. Brocks etc ?
Thanks for replies

:ROFLMAO:. Xform buckets have always been designed and made by Eastern Attachments in Norfolk. Bizarrely i have an account direct with them BUT cherry Products have the deal to distribute the xform range of products with the exception of JCB branded versions.

Brocks did a deal Direct with Eastern back when they fell out with strimech and before cherry become the new distributor, to have there own Brocks branded buckets. Now i dont know if they are just very old stock or if they are new stock but possibly still going through Cherry or if they still buy direct?? if there still buying direct then i would suspect they are being supplied a Mark1 or Mark2 maybe??? but i'm only guessing cause i not seen there buckets up close to tell the difference.

I think Cherry are on a Mark 3 now? Defiantly changed in the last 12 or 18 months. no longer has 2 thick metal skids running front to back coming off the bottom of the mounting brackets and forward to the front wear edge.

Instead the back of the rolled bucket has been beefed up and across the whole front has been beefed up too with a fold underneath to form a double skin/closed in section or box if you like, which will stop the front of the bucket flexing and bowing out which in time can crack the corners/side gussets.

I bet if i spoke to Eastern and cherry and placed a big enough order they would take the cherry eastern stickers off and brand them ACE buckets:ROFLMAO:

To me the xform buckets always look BIGGER when compared to another make/brand of supposedly the same rated capacity! Sure its something to do with rated capacity heaped or level fill etc etc and just depends how the brand measures/markets it?

Going off the pictures on Brocks website every one listed is either Mark 1 or Mark 2 buckets. Defiantly no mark 3 on there. Could just be old pictures they haven't updated of cause?

this is a Mark 3 with double skinned beefed up front

I took delivery of a JCB xform bucket yesterday.
3 cube to go on JCB 541-70. It looks a lot bigger than the 2.26 cube cherry bucket I had before but using it today it felt like a good match.
