wondering if ace or others can help, got a 64 reg manitou which is putting up a hydraulic fault symbol and the code 43000d and loosing boom and 3rd service functions

I have no actual hands on experience myself with 840 but I should be able tell you what error code means later tonight.

Look at the wiring at the base of the JSM joystick, you may find the wiring broken there which isnt uncommon. Wires are tiny and hard to rejoin nicely IMO, new JSM sticks arnt normally that stupid money IMO especially compared to other brands so you might want to do a temporary repair and order a new one?

if so then that's disappointing as it's already had a new stick this year after (so we were told) the circuit board in it failed

:X3: Dont shoot the messenger :ROFLMAO: fault might be the other end by spool block or anywhere in between, but joystick is always a good first shout as thats the bit thats always moving about.

Just had a similar problem as above, any chance you could send over that picture so I can have a go at fixing mine? Seems like loose wire but no idea…

Just seen this post, hopefully someone on here can still help. Same machine as one in question. Several weeks ago lost in/out on joystick roller, moved thick black wire running into joystick which got back the in/out. Now tonight the 3rd service/locking pin totally stopped working with hydraulic error light showing. Can’t see any frayed wires below, was thinking of opening up joystick but can’t find a diagram, don’t suppose anyone has one or any ideas? Also can anyone talk me through where it is on spool block? I think it’s in joystick but might be worth trying?? @ACEngineering you seem to have a good idea! Will I be able to find a wire inside?

Got The same problem. Figured out what it is. Its the joystick wires where they come down through the pinch point when you lower the boom, they are more then likely smashed through and shorting together. I cut mine of and resoldered them to the board. Just wish i could get a pic of the wires connecting to the board like the ones that are soldered in there because i lost my pic that i took before cutting them of, could someone help me out?

i have one of these check your wires under the stick all the way to the floor the crap plastic cover cuts and rubs through them eventually you will lose the boom altogether and they will need re-joining
