Changing the oil in front and rear diffs on a 733-115. No spec for oil just says manitous special oil for immersed brakes. Any ideas if there is an alternative?

I should add that some years ago when I wanted the correct transmission fluid for our matbro teleram 3 I contacted one of the biggest lubricant suppliers in Wales and the manager went to some trouble to ensure I had correct stuff
So does Snipe know any lubricant
supplier

Just buy the genuine manitou oil. You only need 1 x 20 litre can to do both front and rear. Costs around £75 plus vat a can.
Dont use it in wheel hubs they are fine with ep80-90.

I have tried all oils in axles and non are 100% right.

Firstly I am not disputing what you say
About using genuine manitou oils
But assuming manitou have to go to a
Manufacturer of lubricants to buy it in the first place it should be available anywhere
Also the lubricant supplier where I buy
From and I don't buy a lot told me he can supply the correct oils for 100 year old engines right up to modern cars ,lorries and machines
Hope I have not annoyed ACE !!

They can mix nearly any oil you like. They take a base oil and mix the additives with it to make the spec you want. The issue is whether manitou make their additive package available to copy or buy.

Not annoyed. Short tempered due to bad back maybe?

Only genuine oils I insist on using is manitou and jcb axle oil.
This comes from over 15 years working on these machines trying just about every oil there is! Just when you think you cracked it you get a customer ring to say you know that machine you serviced the brakes or limited slip diff squeak now! Was fine before come fix it at your cost?

The genuine axle oil looks nothing like what suppliers recommended equivalents are! Take morris lube for example. Exactly the same axle on loads of manitou but depending on model they recommend at least 3 different oil types! Same axle but on a CNH again another type of oil!
That's just stupid! Dont matter what make or model it's on if the axle is all the same internals why is there no consistency in oil spec! Basically cause they dont bloody know and are just guessing in my opinion!

Every dana axle I have had with noisy brakes and or limited slip diff a simple oil change with genuine manitou oil fixes it.
What made my decision final on only using genuine was a few years go on a manitou MLA 628. Replaced worn out limited slip diff plates and brake discs. Used the same oil in it I had used in machine from its first service. Brakes where noisy and diff almost locked solid!
When back to base and got some LS90 oil to try. That was worse! Drove a 2 hour round trip to a dealer to get genuine oil. Cured it in less than 5 minutes! So I came to the conclusion there oil is different and while sometimes you can get away with it it wasnt worth the hassle trying to save £20!
Even less of a saving when using a high spec LS90!

I have also learned that a sales man from any background will always tell you what you want to hear and what suits themselves.
