Some leftover beams from the shed welded together:

Altough it will do its job daily in the manure, I had it sandblasted and painted:

Made one once out of a massive bit of channel. Pivoted it on 50mm pins.

Bit OTT! But the little jcb 520-40 wont break it again!

On yours I would have boxed the rsj in on the top so the slurry didnt sit in it and rot it out.

may seem like a stupid question- why angle the edges towards the tractor?, it won't hold any manure, it'll just push a semicircle in the middle and everything at the edges will be deflected.

which way around is the op's scraper supposed to fit on the handler/loader. Does the U shape face the loader or face away? (ie. does the scraper look like a 'u' or 'n' from above.)

It has bobcat type attachment. The "U" is away from the loader for pushing, slurry scraper style.
Ok, it all makes sense

I have used one which fits on the back of a tractor and you then reverse the tractor to use. Reversing the tractor gives more manoeuvrability around ring feeders etc... because steering axle is furthest from scraper.

Ps. The photo of a scraper on a Marshall is just one I got off google as an example pic. I never used a Marshall
