Finally decided its time to get a drone

Not interesting in seeing what a Lexion looks like from the air but I can see some use in helping target field walking and even scaring some pigeons through the winter

about to buy a mvic 2 fly more package but any advice from experienced drone users before I do so ?

Not much experience yet have just had my first serious play with a Phantom 4 Advanced plus. Had hoped to be going earlier but the battery with it was shot before we started! Apparently not uncommon experience, replacement was lost by courier.
The camera on the Phantom is amazing! Good day for it mind.
The first word of warning watch low cables! Collision avoidance cannot see them and it is very deceiving where you are in the air even close up. Nearly clipped one.
Good luck

Very impressed with the original Mavic, 25 min battery and more stable in the air than the much larger DJI inspire. £600 gets one second hand. Mavic 2 can only be better.. can't it?

Is the camera clear enough to make out someone’s face from the air if they point anything at it? Just asking.......

Have looked hard at Mavic 2 as aid to shepherding some Hill ground. The demo I had from my godson looked like might be possible to move sheep with it. They certainly didn’t like the drone flying near them, no doubt they would become us d to it soon enough tho.
A drone is a rare combination of useful tool and excellent toy the accountant can’t argue with !

If you would like some aerial shots JP I will gladly come down your way. I am not sure about rounding up your cattle with it, I may need a bit more practice first, I think as they may end up in my back garden :):):)

Think a Rifle shoots further than they go???

Took some shots of a farm yard at 400 feet and 800 feet distance stunning clarity , think you would need to be crackshot to have got the drone, especially as it was in the sun. I would post picture here but owner would not appreciate and picture would have to be downsized removing the detail

By from a well known dealer. Ie someone very familiar with the dji returns protocol if something goes wrong.

Make sure you get spare batteries

And don't fool yourself you'll be out flying over your lexion within a week.

Have bought from DJI directly online and added the fly more pack with x3 extra batteries / case / car chargers and crash damage parts etc - along with a couple of SD cards I think I have all I need

Anyone tried the goggles ?

Have got the Mavic Air; exceptional bit of kit and really easy to learn to fly. Not got the goggles but get used to the drone first so you get to know the remote connection issues as the first time you lose the connection your heart may skip a beat or two! The remote connection is supposed to be better on the Mavic and Mavic 2 but trees etc may still cause issues - the return to home function will look after you though so it's only ever a temporary panic and being stranded in a pair of googles wondering where the world has gone may not be the best way to discover it the first time around..
