Do you mean a topper9/rhino? Built like a brick sh!those, will chop up sheep troughs, fence posts etc ( as proved by my son☹️)without even chipping a blade. Does a lovely job of grass as long as it's cutting low, with no wheel marks. Not so good set high and for some reason seems to skate over some stalky thistles

A PT270 is not a Topper 9/Rhino . The PT270 is half the weight of a Topper 9 and uses cheap gear boxes.

My neighbour has had a lot of trouble with his PT240 ( offset ) gearboxes.

Yes with sharp blades and set low , the Topper 9 does make a good job.

However with over 9 feet between skids , and a similar distance between tractor wheels and topper depth wheels, if your ground isn't level you will scalp it . This is a nuissance on north facing hills with cow ruts and can cause the blades carriers to bend upwards.

Our rino 9ft has chewed up granite, blocks, tree trunks gorse etc, key is to keep revs high and drive at a steady pace. Ours is about 10 years old, bomb proof

Our neighbour has a McConnel Rhino 9 that we have used ourselves, @Martyn 's description is pretty accurate!. I would also add that its not a lightweight machine, you will need a tractor with some weight to it, or if you are not careful the tail will wag the dog!

Not a lightweight machine, it's more the length the overhang use a neighbours on a 100 hp livestock tractor admittedly on a serious steep field need front weights on.

Tend to use it on 750 speed shaft that if it hits something major the tractor stalls rather than wreck the machine.
