Measuring atmospheric limits

We have planning in for an extension on a dairy shed to increase numbers marginally. We have been asked to run a simulation using the SCAIL system to show our levels of NH3 PM10 and Odour. Has anyone any idea on scale on this? . IE apparently we currently have a NH3 level of 2663 which will increase to 2875. The person im meant to deal with is annoyingly unreachable currently so i have no clue if this is a safe level or no where near. Guidance would be appreciated.

posted thread in pig and poultry but thought I’d try here too. Has Anyone else had to do this?

We've just been through all this and it made our application take 12 months. In the end we paid ADAS to do all the figures on ammonia emissions. Our application was held up by Natural England on the basis that they didn't understand their own regulations.

woyld you have any idea what your figures would be? I just want to understand it before I send them in.

Welcome to the new wonderful world. Green field planning will be so expensive going foward it will put a lot off.
In some ways it’s not a bad thing as if will cap some of the larger herds going silly. It just boils my pee when they send you a letter saying to do something and then you can’t get hold of anyone to talk to them about it. Jobs for the boys no doubt.

Its alright it wont be just new builds. It's likely this is a language we will all come to understand when we apply for our permit to be a dairy farm currently planned for 2025.

It may be the case that only the large farms can meet the capital cost of complying.

With a bit of luck the lack of food getting through the bottleneck of Dover will have brought them to their senses.
