I was horrified to see 'eggs from hens fed a vegatarian diet' for sale in a supermarket last year. How unatural is that? And in order to guarantee that they can't have been free range!

If the hens could talk, I wonder what they would say and whether they would voluntarily be vegetarian. Actually there is no doubt whatsoever as to their view, is there? It's not natural.

As a mop and a none vegetarian I do recall farmers pressing for youngsters to be better educated as to farming and food production. ( A point of view that I "do" agree with.) It is a sad fact that the food on our plates is greatly divorced from it's origins, but I fear that introducing our youngsters to the practices of modern slaughter houses would greatly increase the number of vegetarians in the uk.

I do remember the days when members of the general public were often drafted in to assist in the annual harvests. Sadly those days are gone and Joe Public is all the poorer for it.
