Dear Farmers / Landowners

I`m looking for a bit of land in potters bar / Hertfordshire area to practice my metal detecting hobby, in return i could provide some free service, such as some painting work, gardening or some handy work in the weekends, if you could help me out with my hobby please contact me i would love to hear back from you, if its more preferred I can meet you face to face and discuss more details.
I have insurance and I am NCMD registered, I am also a fire risk manager qualified so i could possibly write you a fire report if you ever need one carried out with recommendations, I have plenty of H&S diplomas, so if you ever need help with that i can provide advice, etc. I also have extensive knowledge in planning permissions so i could also provide advice there.
I don`t have thousands of pounds to pay you for your permission, but I can be helpful to you.
I don`t want to keep what i find so i will give it to you or take it to the charity shop of your choice and donate it with receipt. If its deemed to be valuable you can declare it yourself to the relevant authorities and I can help you do that. I`m interested not in the money. just the fun of it.
If you think I can help you by removing all metallic objects from the fields that could potentially damage your tractors tires, combines, etc.
I am a responsible detectorist and I do abide of the Codes of practice, I wont damage your crops etc.

Please do PM me.

Kind regards

John

Thats what you are up against........ someone who pays farmers £12 and charges attendees £20!
You would be better off joining a proper accountable club...... you could even offer them your help & services which would advance you up any "waiting list". (y)

Thanks for your onest reply JC, maybe I get a reply, I see all the other posts don't have a reply,

I Tried, unfortunately it's full in my area, I'm very sad that there's no clubs in my area, if there are any their full, I'm a member of 4 clubs outside my area however paying £20 + travel + food = 220. For a day out in the field, unfortunately I can't recover my costs, and it's becoming very unaffordable, for me personally, this hobby feels like your locked in a prison cell because of no freedom.

I completely agree, its ridiculous to pay for digs, that are just for fun and doesn't harm anyone or anything there are some idiots out there that ruined our play fields but there are also some winners out there, what farmer wouldn't want an extra 250k in their pocket like it happened in Staffordshire or in Kent where the money was over £1mil.

To be honest I presume it's the trust that people nowadays don't have due to everyday "bad news flash" mass manipulation, There's nothing good out there, but there are some people like me for example that are good and kind hearted and just get on with it.

Maybe one day, HOPE is the only thing that keeps us going in a hobby, when that goes, I guess the hobby dies, in future the farmlands will become massive developments, history gets lost in muckaway lorries and museums won't have any new things to show due to the fact that this hobby won't exist because of people giving up as they don't have any land permissions to go and detect.

Sad indeed. But still, got 5 NOs over the phone today, hopefully a Holdings company may give me a yes. Keep on searching. GL&HH
