MF 135- problems with the rear hydraulic system- hjelp needed!

First- sorry for the language issues, I’m norwegian and rearly writes in english regarding tractor issues. But I give it A go and hoping for some insight on the problems.

I have a (New to me) MF 135, -70 model. When I bought it (just recently) the rear hydraulic system worked fine- rising and lowering the lift arms. Now, suddenly, the arms lifts, but IT won’t lower again! Unless i put som weight on... Is that normal? I Don’t think so since IT was’nt like that when i test drove IT... I attached a picture of the leverer because i know they are quite different from one model to another.

what is the correct way to operate the hydraulics based on this kind of leverer? in What position should the two handles be in to lower/rise for attaching different aquipment?

And sorry for the capital letters- autocorrect on norwegian tablet...

Have you got the position lever in pressure control ,,that would cause the arms not to drop .

In What position should IT be do make the arms drop? I’ve tried every single possible combinations of positions whitout luck so far...

It doesn't have pressure control.
The arms should drop with the levers as they are in the photo. They should also drop with the draft full back and position moved forward and also with the position lever at transport and draft lever moved forwards.

It's a standard basic hydraulic system with out pressure control, and where you have the levers it should drop arms,
For it to do what your saying, then has it got a dirverter valve fitted ?
The dirverter valve is on top of the hydraulic top casting at the front right hand corner, if it's the old style dirverter it will be a 3 position one, and needs to be in the middle position for arms to work, that is the lever pointing straight up, and it is ever so easy to knock this lever while getting on or off with your foot,

Please for give me, my English is not so good either, and I bloody live here

First rule of owning new machinery, buy the manual.

Rule 2: Put it beside the loo/toilet/lavatory.

Rule 3. Read it when you won't be wasting time.

I was going to be kind and photocopy the relevant sections of the manual but as there are over 20 pages on the rear hydraulics, I won't be. Instead, here is a link:

There will be service manuals online or on Ebay.

Thanks folks! Like i wrote first, the arms lower if I put some pressure on. Is that normal, or should they drop without any weight? And as they Don’t drop What could be wrong?
Can ad that this machine also have front hydraulic (sesamatic) that still works perfectly fine.
I’m aware of the diverter valve on top of the hydraulic because of the front hydraulic system...

One of the very few times we ever had to get the spanner out to our oh so reliable 135 : The linkage stopped working altogether but the pump was ok because you could still tip trailers etc with it. We called the dealer and fitted a new control valve and it cured it. I seem to remember him saying that sometimes if the lift arms refuse to lower it can be caused by the same issue i.e. faulty control valve.

In mine, it was after the tractor had been sitting outside for a few months. Water had got in with the oil and the filter was blocked with 'vaseline'. Cleaned the filter and changed the oil, all working fine but lately arms have started dropping when not running, which is not a problem until it gets worse!

The diverter valve at ours needs to point backwards for rear hydraulic. Nothing happens if it is in upright position...and we have to point IT forwards to operate the front hydraulic

this is an example of Things that confuses me. IT seems like every MF135 is different and for that the manuals or instruction books are worthless ??‍♀️

Yours is fitted with a none genuine after market diverted,
I was referring to a genuine MF diverted, which should be more common,
So my answer is correct and was talking in general

Ours have always gone down when not running. It's a massey thing, they all do it to a certain extent (any fitted with the ferguson system anyway)
Some are worse than others though!
