MF 2640 Hydraulic questions

Hi All, I have a MF 2640 with 4-WD that has a hydraulic control issue. It has three spool valves, one for the 3-point hitch arms, one for a remote with float, and the other a non-floating remote. The floating remote works fine in the float mode, will lift in one direction, but not in the other. Presumably this is a problem with the spool valve. Any guidance as to what it might be, and whether it can be repaired in place. removing it looks like a terrible job. Thanks. SHM

is this the valve bank what you have? unfortunately, he didn't come back with a solution, but lots of pictures in that thread. If it's just one function of one valve, I'd take the cover off the bottom of that spool, see what you find, then take the spool out if you can. If the spool doesn't come out, that's when it gets interesting, something is broken inside.

Thanks. This looks like the valve bank I have. You can see why I might prefer not to disassemble it. I think the valve of interest is the middle one.

I remember seeing that is a manual or online, but can't find it now. I have a recollection of it working in double action, but that could have been the other remote.

Will get some pics tomorrow. I found the reference to the change from single to double action and will try it. That would be great if that is all is requires. Says to go to double action, I just back out this metering bolt by 6 to 8 turns.

It's a while since we had one so I may have it the wrong way round.but definitely a bolt to screw in and out

Screw the bolt right out for single acting and right in for double acting, was on all 2000 and 2005 tractors

I found the info in the service manual: "to change and adjustable spool valve from single to double action unscrew screw 20 by about 6-8 turns, then tighten lock nut". You can see the adjuster bolt at the bottom of the valve in the photo, attached by popular demand.

Anyone got any top tips to bleed the brakes up on a 2640. Do I need to take bonnet off and start at pedal or just go to bleed screw on the trumpet housing and work pedal.
One side works the other has nothing at the pedal.

bleed screw on trumpet revs at 1500 dont press pedal they will self bleed unless o rings on piston are buggered
