Morning all,

My Massey 6180 electronic shuttle keeps jumping out of forward when going from reverse or won’t engage forwards at all. Any ideas?
Thanks
Steve

It’s got 6700 hours, I was wondering wether it could be the solenoid getting weak and not shuttling the valve?

Once it’s in forward you clutch and declutch as much as you want.

when we bought our 6180 it was electric shuttle, converted before delivery to manuel.

at bout 7000ish hours we had to fit a new selector fork, as said above more common to electric shuttle ones as not set right/adjusted for wear over time.

Was going to switch the solenoids tomorrow see if the fault moves.

how do you calibrate it @GFA
Can't remember exactly years since I've done one but it's something like holding the diff lock switch as you start the tractor and whilst still holding the diff lock switch pull the gear stick to the side as if you were changing hi low. It will then automatically change from forwards to reverse to calibrate once it's done this a few times it should then stop and select a gear. the oil will need to be warm or it won't start calibrating. If it starts beeping after the calibration sequence you probably have a problem with the potentiometer or its working outside its range due to needing adjusted or you have a worn fork making it read out of range. Someone with an autotronic tester can look at all the functions on screen and see what it's doing.

cool thanks, I will have ago at that tomorrow. Think i have a workshop manual for her on my computer will have a look for it.

There is a local independent chap who has all the diagnostic stuff so may end up giving him a call.

Not really but the shaft has to come out right from the diff and chech the shaft for wear cause if its wore a seal wont sort it itl either be a new shaft needed or get it built up and lathed to size which could be a problem if u normally go to a business thats currently shut

Is it the big hub seal that's leaking or one of the smaller half shaft seals either hub side or axle side
