The 7618 (second hand buy) we have has the same suspension as the 7718 but I'm convinced it's not as smooth as the 77 but that may be down to the redesigned front suspension . The 6480 I had before my boss changed for the 77 had allot spent on the suspension 2 or 3 accumulators and new compressor.
One accumulator lasted literally weeks I asked the question could they be stripped and sealed and was told no by the fitter but then guess they would say that

Mine ran for 6months sat on the bump stops before we came up with this idea, which was awful. Its very good, as good iirc as the airbags were. Fitted these about 200hrs ago, so far so good. As @Cowabunga suggests, the damper mounts (sturdy) are now carrying more weight, I'd guess the weak point is the bolts, but so far so good. Come and have a go on it if you want.
Cheers Andrew, i might come and have a measure up before i splash out on some for the 95

on the 7619 I drive the springs/dampers have been replaced because they were worn out already at 2500-3000 hours. The new ones fitted are much better than the old ones were when they were "new ones". So maybe though they look the same they might be a bit different 7700 compared to 7600 series. Anyone has any experience with the luxury cab suspension on 7700 series?

mine was leaking more since i did brakes (no compressor just charge bags with airline) as i had to take bags off and other bits to remove trumpets and must have disturbed it, when back together was leaking quite fast i.e flat every day. I took original plastic tanks off sealed the centre joint with silicone and added some tyre sealant to the system as theres no compressor to damage, i charged it to 2 bar prob well over 3 months ago and its not moved since, easy cheap fix.

Springs in pretty much perfect fit cab seems to be in same position as the previous hard setting on air. Slight concerns that the bolts will stand the pressure but time will tell i suppose .

I got a pair of MF5400 cab struts for my 7480, since the compressor expired after 11000hrs, the airbags were well perished and at least one of the tanks leaked. To replace the whole air suspension system was iirc about 2 grand in parts. These two were £200 apiece. Brilliant. (yes I know, it needs a bath!)

Resurrecting this thread as we have a failed compressor on a 6480, would you possibly have the part number for the 5400 cab springs please @Spud ?
