MF 6616 Error Code T153 - one for the MF experts!

I've got a 2014 Massey Ferguson 6616 with a t1.53 code. I'm able to get it to repeat the problem by pumping the brakes 10-12 times, it then sounds like a relief valve is spilling and I get a red light/beep that persists until I key off and back on. With it repeating reliably after pumping the brakes, it doesn't seem like a wiring or pressure sensor problem. It will also occur after working in the field for a while, not necessarily connected to the hitting of the brakes. Any advice or experience on this issue would be greatly appreciated.

I have rounded up the basic description of the code:
T1.53 - 50KPH High pressure brake unit > Braking pressure too low.

I believe this is applicable to at least the 6600/7600 series of tractors, if not older and newer lines

Thanks
Marc

Hi, it sounds similar to what our 7718 was doing, it is under warranty so the dealer sorted it but they said it was an inline brake filter that needed replacing, they did it while servicing it so don't know anymore about it other than that.

Thanks for the tip, I'll look into the brake filter.

Quick update, I found the inline filter and was able to get it pulled out (found it under the cab on right side if looking at rear of tractor, behind the cab steps), picture below. No obvious debris on it so cleaned it off well and replaced. No luck, still get the error code. I decided to take some video of what happens, uploaded it to youtube for anyone that may be interested.

Thanks for the suggestion, I actually got the same advice from the dealer. I've got the new accumlator, just waiting for the weather to warm up over here "across the pond" in Colorado. Supposed to break freezing tomorrow, last couple days have been below 0...Fahrenheit. I'll update if it does the trick.

Quick update, the new accumulator seems to have done the trick. The service man at the dealer suggested I take a blunt rod and push on the accumulator through the opening once removed and see if it was easy to move, it was not, so the old one must be getting low on pressure but still have some in it. I doubt Hydac would approve of this test method... Anyways, one other thing I noticed after swapping the accumulator out was that the air brake pressure doesn't get depleted as I pump the brakes.

Thanks for the advice @dee and @Ross Fraser
