Never sat in a big Fendt but it can't be that far off.. I would actually rate the 8700's as better than JD 7r and Case Magnum, and not far from on par with the Deutz 9000 series.
Thats a biggie mind comparing the best of Waterloo's finest Green machines against a Beauvais red horse.
Nice to hear tho, shame id put money on there will be 3 times more of all of them larger framed Deere's across the world as the Massey.
Poss more 900 series Fendts than the 8700 series masseys even, Unsure tho.

Yeah the 8700's is a bit underappreciated I feel like, Fendt backend with a big Sisu engine in front and a cab that actually feels like a modern tractor cab. What's there not to like?

Just a shame the 8740 doesn't sound like the old 8480...
Some nice land there. Is the newer vario a more reliable unit than the old fendt vario as i used to hear of tractors needin new varios but not so much now and theres more of them gettin about than years ago. Also never heard of as many masseys needin it than fendt? Is this pure coincidence or is the massey software more kind to the tranny?

Thats the exact same weight as my tractor and a Marshall qm11 on the weigh bridge how thirsty is it on road work?

It’s not thirsty at all tbh... haven’t done too much road work yet but cultivating with a lemken karret 3m and a flat lift been using 20-25litres hr and on slurry pump revving at 1000rpm on thick slurry 20litres/hr, had it down too 12litre/hr on some water

Ye the mid/northern Swedish countryside really is something else. I would never trade the times when we're doing first cut long into the night and still see the sun even at midnight.
Same with us in Finland. It's nice to work through the night without even turning on the headlights. It's so soothing and quiet outside.

Got one on demo at mo, haven’t a massive amount to do with it sadly, bad timing, but I’m struggling to find something other than the look that I don’t like about it, and I’d get used to the look I think, quiet, comfortable, great gearbox and very easy to learn how to use, last Massey I did more than a few days work in was a 3095 when I was 19, impressed!

You have just proven it with your legs up in the air. your leg over the Consul

My legs are up in the air too show the giant space even my collie can’t fill...
IMG_3542.JPG

I’m 6ft and fully stretched out seat reclined back and too the side having a sleep on a slurry pump for half the day I still can’t touch the front window ... the tractor has plenty of faults I could go on all day with faults but leg room is Definatly not one of them
