Few settled months let everyone catch breath
Do you think that the processors will show us the same consideration the next time the price crashes ?Yeap.
we need our processors to survive
Our customers to keep buying and
No uptick in production.
But still we, farmers collectively, kept sending them plenty of milk.Do you think that the processors will show us the same consideration the next time the price crashes ?
I think not. They were still making good profits when our milk was down to 20p. How many farmers were showing good margins then ?
Confirmed?Looks like another 1.6 ppl for July with arla!
Yes, it was released early in error, so has now been officially confirmed as plus 1.73 ppkg, to 49.45ppl for manf price. Organic up 0.87ppl to 55.11pplConfirmed?

Unfortunately the early release has meant we have not yet had our teams calls to update all of reps. This is due at 11.30 tomorrow (release should have 12 noon). We should have more information then, but it will basically be based around the returns from the market.Reason given for the smaller organic rise?

My local shop told me that people aren’t buying so much milk now as it’s cheaper in supermarkets or they are decreasing consumption in favour of booze
No accounting for stupid.
I’m not sure others will follow Arla up as they (Arla) will export if they meet a British brick wall. Think we are pretty much at peak price for now
Is that why organic vegetable demand is back 10% and conventional is back 15%?In a cost of living crisis, luxury items get cut out first
It's will be different for every processor, business model. I'm sure a lack of milk is worse than paying slightly too much.My local shop told me that people aren’t buying so much milk now as it’s cheaper in supermarkets or they are decreasing consumption in favour of booze

I think that's very common, milks 3.5% down now that could easily be 10% by ChristmasLack of milk is key.
Our forage stocks are going to be tight as can’t get fert so growing 3rd, 4th and potentially 5th cut on slurry only .. but that can only go so far
The only slurry left here are the sand dredgings, enough for 1 cut. Had poultry manure delivered for 3rd cut, that won’t happen next year with old Drakey’s NVZ/ anti pollution regs.Lack of milk is key.

Everyone de stock by 10%, 80p by Christmas and for the first year ever we could all take the day off because we could afford to pay a fortune for someone else to do it, ohh and we’d have enough forage stocks to see us through winter. Now wouldn’t that be dreamyI think that's very common, milks 3.5% down now that could easily be 10% by Christmas
