Milk Price Tracker

I winter hoggs on a dairy farm in Shropshire they get 30p with arla mind you they need it I'd say its a father and son team with a workman 4 days a week he reckons 150 cows is a full time job for 2 without the tractor work and everything else they start half 5 in the morning and finish half 6 at night but always seems quite there during the day
Sounds like they’re doing very well .
Similar but slightly different to here, I have a few more cows, me and a part time going on full time worker, 3 p less on milk price and whilst I might moan about the job now and again, I’m a long way from poverty.

At 33 years old I’m yet to see a poor farmer, go to any farmers meeting at your local pub or golf club and the car park is always full of high end 4x4’s. For all the EUs faults as a sector we’ve done alright since the war.

A lot of the pickups and truck will be on finance so having the top end spec probably does not make much difference to your monthly payment, and it maybe your only transport private use as well but dose not mean you can afford it.

Why not have a new pick up it’s not a luxury it’s a work horse.

By all means have one that was not my point, plenty have a upto date pickup and a Range Rover or equivalent for running around to meetings, which is not an issue, unless of course you sit in the aforementioned meeting and plead poverty. Not saying everyone does it but we’ve all seen it.
