MOT can't of expired when you change it over. After that its no MOT

At 33 years old I’m yet to see a poor farmer, go to any farmers meeting at your local pub or golf club and the car park is always full of high end 4x4’s. For all the EUs faults as a sector we’ve done alright since the war.

You get poor quite quick at 13 ppl for a prolonged period.

Hopefully my battered old passat will afford me a farm one day.

we too are in the battered old Passat club. Bought as a temp car a few years ago it has nearly 200,000 miles on clock and still looks ok when washed. Ford ranger pick up looks very battered for its age.

At a guess, that truck has done 5k more miles since then, even had a product recall on it.

By all means have one that was not my point, plenty have a upto date pickup and a Range Rover or equivalent for running around to meetings, which is not an issue, unless of course you sit in the aforementioned meeting and plead poverty. Not saying everyone does it but we’ve all seen it.

That reminds me of a boss I had in the UK. He came out one morning a bit stressed. He was off to a days shooting somewhere - nothing unusual there - but had to take the 18 month old defender (no work truck for us for the day) as the Porsche was in for a service and his wife wanted the Range Rover.


Poor bloke, hopefully his mates didn't take the pee too much.




He was a good bugger though, it just made me laugh at the time.
