Depends if its fertilised or not doesn't it?
depends on what scheme its in, and how long its been in one.
we have friends farming down there, and we go out across the droves, some fields are not worth £5, and are an utter mess.

The other thing you see, or don't see, are birds and butterflies across those fields, decent ones, plenty. Another case of NE thinking they know better.

years ago, the levels would have 1,000's of cattle across them, 90% less now ? They are destroying what they want to improve. Scheme now, to revert 15,000 acres to marsh land.

I don’t know the area or the land but with the moor ground being approximately half the price of the dearest lot, it does leave me wondering which was the most expensive
Would be some good ground, but 800’ or a bit more high on the Blackdown hills. Catalogue says cut once & graze.
The moor ground would be somerset levels & unrestricted use.

So your £100/ac is in a scheme whereas the £300 fertilised isn't.

Which is best value again?

mine, it isn't in any scheme.

taken over 1st April, round upped, and 2 tonne lime/ac. Good IRG ley, with perhaps crimson clover, to give it a boost for structure and N.

There are owners about, who are more interested to see their land, farmed 'properly' and tidy, than the highest price. We have nearly 100 acres at that money, in 2 blocks. Plus 14 acres, free, to keep tidy.

One of those blocks, an organic farmer told everybody he had it, at £200 ac, we had done the deal, 2 months earlier.

Like top priced "calf" at market. Its says its 6 weeks old on the passport!
Should be in the stirk ring!
that is a common fault/dodge, especially when you can see the horn buds. Its usually just under 6 weeks, to avoid pre movement.

what does it gain, farmer who buys it, must know, saving in powder cost ?

we regularly hit top price, but l guarantee, the age on the passport is correct.

I'm familiar with Aller Moor. Until very recently I dairy farmed on the adjoining moors - slightly lower (sea level, or just below!).
Will have a stay green factor in a dry summer. Unproductive grass species, though - and protected by SSSI.
Nice in a dry summer, large lake in the winter.😂

Race to the bottom again.
Tesco cutting price of milk on shelves.
Not that bad. It's telling consumers it's doing them a favour but it's nowhere near the price they were paying 12 months ago. Not looking like a price war yet. £1.35 would have been more concerning.
