Kite podcast moaning on about the spring flush and how prices will rise in the second half.Had a talk from dairy market analyst Erik Elgersma at our milk buyer producer meeting and safe to say it didn’t sound overly optimistic short term price wise and medium/long term wasn’t a lot better!
got to get the cows out, before we get a spring flush !Kite podcast moaning on about the spring flush and how prices will rise in the second half.
mu question is how do we expect prices to
Rise when demand is only slowly recovering but we are producing more milk than last yr?

Apparently not milk is ahead of last yr now. Perhaps cows milk better inside? Not necessarily more profitable but more milk.got to get the cows out, before we get a spring flush !
old saying around here, and no doubt elsewhere, 'blackthorn winter', usually get a shite spell then, and its coming out now.Got to have spring before we have a spring flush!
Plenty grass in the field without fert this spring. The spring got flushed. Most fert is still in the shed and grazing herds stuck in sheds. Milk Price too low to drive production from purchased feed.
Should restrict production for the whole summer as the drought kicks in.
often reckon they tell us any old story, to keep the price downApparently not milk is ahead of last yr now. Perhaps cows milk better inside? Not necessarily more profitable but more milk.

statistics statistics, and damned statistics, they can all be twisted round.
If they wanted to keep the price down they would be telling us it was short surely.often reckon they tell us any old story, to keep the price down

Feed looks cheap to me I shan't be holding back. The spring got flushed. Most fert is still in the shed and grazing herds stuck in sheds. Milk Price too low to drive production from purchased feed.

That’s the last thing you need to hear if your on 35ppl and are yet to get caught up with the rest of the processors. It's significantly above what commodities are realising at the moment.
