MMA Inverter welder

Thinking of getting an inverter welder to use around the yard for welding gate crooks, maintenance etc. Looking at Parweld 163 or Jasic 180. Anybody run either and got any preferences on the 2.

For odd jobs around the yard there‘s any amount of toaster size Chinese boxes in the £50-100 range that will easily weld a gate hinge and if it gets wet or falls in the slurry its not such a loss. Keep the Jasic for the workshop.

btw. did see a s/h Lorch with a battery for ultimate portability on eBay the other day if anybody’s interested.

We've got both here- I lean towards the parweld but that's only brand loyalty. There's nothing to choose between either make.

I actually have very similar machines. Parweld 161 and the jasic 180. They are fairly decent there is not much in them on daily use, they have both miles and miles of welding under their belt, both run equally well on a genny as they do on mains. Parweld has an analogue dial, jasic has a digital dial which may give problems in the long run but I doubt it. The parweld has a little toggle switch to change from arc to tig that is quite sensitive I cant count how many times I've gone to strike up and the switch is in tig mode. The jasic looks a bit more tatty as it doesn't come with a carry case, so takes more knocks and bumps but still works perfect. I think the Parweld is a nicer machine....but I know its in my head as I am associating higher price being better quality. I have a 200amp jasic tig machine as well, I'm crap at ali but the guy who works it says its a grand machine for the money. With any of those inverter machines keep them out of the wet and they will be grand.

**edit** had a look online I see the parweld is now cheaper (iirc it was more expensive than the Jasic at the time I may be wrong i possibly didnt even look at a jasic machine) and has a digital dial as well, and the jasic comes with a carry case. I've had mine for a few years so there have been some changes. Mains cable is heavier on the Parweld also.

Ive a Jasic 180 bought off welding supplies direct on here.
Nice plastic case that hasnt broke yet, plenty of juice, runs on my tractor 10kva genny no bother. Its got good cables not the plastiky shite my old one had. Got tig too but never used that.
Cant really fault it.
That said they are all much of a muchness, its only thing like good cables that split them.

Thanks, I’m leaning more towards the Parweld purely due slightly being cheaper, has anyone actually had a warranty claim for a Jasic as on some forums it states that you have to get it serviced yearly in order to claim the 5 year warranty, something that will cost more money, it’s fine if you don’t need the warranty.

Nothing wrong with Parweld.
Cant help with warranty, mines never been any bother, but its supposed to have 5yrs.
If you stick with any of the main brands you will be grand.

parweld 163 here amoungst others and he copes with real life very well, nice little thing.
been bumped and banged around used on long leads and the genny... and its still fine.
Only thing that was a bit of a rash claim was the so called anti stick , well it does stick at times so its not very effective doesnt bother me though.
Only thing is if you want a few more amps, which sometimes you might the Jasic is not actually much dearer is it ?

Would a jasic 140 be any good for general farm stuff? One for sale £199

Yes, we have one. Do a lot with it using 3.2 and 2.5mm rods. It’s got a 16A plug for workbench work and an adaptor for extension lead work around the place. What’s the difference in price for a 180 though as your duty cycle would be better
