Is there nothing to protect the float?

I can see a lamb getting stuck in there (they are sheep after all) and flooding the field.

That sort of drinker would be illegal in the UK connected to the mains as there is no air gap below the inlet.

Other than that it looks very robust

Plenty of things are illegal in the uk; knife crime, burglary, assault... many go unpunished :banghead:. It’s about time people stopped letting the “un-policed” rules and regs limit the profitability of their business! :ninja:
Not difficult to run off a header tank in many circumstances though. I appreciate not always however.

Have you not had the water company (or their employed zealot companies) inspect you then?

Neighbour had to spend over £10K putting his right and send photographic proof that he had done the same or face a much bigger fine and the prospect of water being turned off.

Far too many inspections, for all sorts of bureaucratic nonsense, dreamt up by people in suits. Depends what you show them mind:whistle:

The kiwi tech micro troughs are brilliant, the cattle seem to prefer drinking from them instead of the big troughs. I’d avoid the fittings, long and short of it they don’t work, you’ll end up hating them!
