My uncle did that, an old top loader tanker, local blacksmith attached a metal trough to it . He’s used it for 30 or so years !
That sort of drinker would be illegal in the UK connected to the mains as there is no air gap below the inlet.
Not difficult to run off a header tank in many circumstances though. I appreciate not always however.Plenty of things are illegal in the uk; knife crime, burglary, assault... many go unpunished . It’s about time people stopped letting the “un-policed” rules and regs limit the profitability of their business!
Have you not had the water company (or their employed zealot companies) inspect you then?Plenty of things are illegal in the uk; knife crime, burglary, assault... many go unpunished . It’s about time people stopped letting the “un-policed” rules and regs limit the profitability of their business!

Neighbour had to spend over £10K putting his right and send photographic proof that he had done the same or face a much bigger fine and the prospect of water being turned off.
Has anyone in Ireland got these Kiwitech troughs or know of anyone that has them. I would like to see them working.View attachment 787868
We've been using these micro troughs from kiwitech. Need to be connected to a pipe, but really simple to move through the grazing with the cattle.
