Monty Don says wolves should be reintroduced to Britain as deer are destroying our woodland

here in south west Lincolnshire we have thousands of deer a pack of wolves would soon start eating the local sheep and cattle as they would be easier prey
the local woods would soon be dog walker free if there were wolves resident

fallow red muntjacs and roe deer in abundance have seen all 4 species in the space of half an hour in one wood

if they were released here I would have to carry a rifle when out field walking I could not run faster than the Wolf !!!

It was bad enough working on ground that had wild boar in the woods bordering the fields especially in the dark and seeing flashes of eyes in the unfenced woods when drilling. That led to some pretty swift drill filling! I'm buggered if I'd want to have a pack of curious wolves around.

Monty has always struck as one of those fellas that over indulged in recreational substances in his youth, having long lasting effects on his thought processing.
Am I alone in thinking that?
You mean he started out with hydroponics in his bedroom?

Monty Don has an opinion on most things . I used to sit in the 'planning committee' on the council. Any application within 10 miles of his place and he would be objecting .

These folks all neglect to factor in one massive problem with introducing apex predators. People. Lots of them, particularly in England.

I think that’s the point, they don’t want people as part of the equation at all and they’d rather keep the countryside as some weird pseudo-wilderness theme park where only people who “understand” it can live (them).
