Been using DIFENAG WAX BAIT (difenacoum) for several years now. Works well on mice but should i change active ingredient? Most dog friendly as there’s a Labrador about.

Not that I know of , I have seen the black pearl where there was a big mouse problem and find 60 or 70 dead mice in the morning, after 3 days problem gone
I have a barn full of apples at the moment and the weather has gone cold, an absolute recipe for a mouse infestation so I think I might give it a go.
Last year I kept on top of them with a dozen Little Nippers set about the place but the Robin population suffered unfortunately. Black Pearl claims to have very limited secondary poisoning risk which is a big factor for me, really don't want to reduce owls etc.

Got some Black Pearl sachets. Wow its good stuff. Only found one dead mouse outside the bait box, all the others have died in the bait box. Does mean regular checking to take the dead ones out. It must be absolutely lethal to them. Thank you for the recommendation, very satisfying results. Anything like this for rats?

Never heard of black pearl before , see that it is Alphachloralose think that is what we used to catch pigeons years ago. But it only sent them to sleep and you had to go and pick them up and dispatch them

I think the dose rate is such that unless a small dog eats several it should at worst just fall asleep for a while, but I personally would not risk it
I had to stop using the wax blocks under straw as if she found them she would eat them. And she eat a rat once and had to have a blood transfusio. Cost me a small fortune over the years. Never had a dog like it.
