A west has a slurry door so the poop isn't against the beaters just the auger you start up with poop against. And if the olde jd ain't upto the job......... ;)
sorry i didn't get straight back to you but I've been helping out a mx110 it had got in quite a mess stuck on a skin from a well known pudding but my jd soon pulled him out

just replace mx110 with ford 7610
That's all a bit unfair, the db lads are getting left out
 
Not yet not sure it’s worth it
I know exactly how you feel because I'm back working on the same one as I was last year. The question is are the modern spreaders made as well as these older machines and will they last as long? The farm has dung from about 120 cattle. Would you say the spreader is big enough or should they get something bigger? Or should they stick with a similar size, if they do decide to replace it? I personally would say the size of the spreader is more than big enough for the job.
